The Bighorn is a great choice in late fall, especially if you’re also interested in some “cast and blast.” Look for BWO and midge hatches, but expect more fish on streamers.

It will collapse as soon as the next really cold spell hits, but I’ve been seeing some really serious pike “grip and grins” on fishing forums from waters near Missoula and Kalispell.
